Who are we?

Urban Exploration Front was founded in 2004 when 2 friends, Alex and Prazzle, started exploring the abandoned side of Belgium. Soon enough more and more friends got their interest in forgotten buildings sparked and started to tag along from time to time. People came and went and now, 4 years later, we are a core group of about 6 people who go on exploring missions on a regular base.

What is urban exploration?

Urban exploration is exactly what the name implies, exploring urban (and not so urban) location. UEF mainly explores abandoned sites (like empty factories, abandoned houses and other forgotten buildings). Note that we are no burglars or squatters, we just enter those buildings to explore them. We never force ourselves a way in (we use the available routes in as most abandoned buildings have got doors forced by previous visitors, and collapsed walls and rusty locks can also provide a way in).

Urban exploration is all about the kick of being where you shouldn't be, of seeing and experiencing things and places most people have forgotten. It's realising there are more interesting things to see than what your touristical guide suggests. You only have to go out there and find those places. It sometimes takes a lot of time and effort to find a location no one has entered for years, a place everyone has forgotten and where time stood still for ages, but in the end it's all worth it.

There is a strange atmosphere going on in most abandoned buildings, and you never know who/what you are going to meet/find. But, don't get me wrong, I am not encouraging you to start urban exploring, as trespassing still is illegal and abandoned buildings are mostly quite dangerous to enter.
